Saturday18th April
Follifoot opened their season with a narrow victory.
In reply, Follifoot were soon in trouble. Stanford caught at slip from the impressive Pearson, Robinson and Dawson both adjudged LBW. Follifoot were 33-3 in the 10th over. A stand of 56 between Bowes and Sweeney steadied the ship and a useful contribution of 15 from Chris Morrison saw Follifoot requiring 20 runs from the final 3 overs. In the penultimate over Yelding was dropped 3 times in successive balls in identical fashion – enabling 6 runs to be accumulated – this proved to be the turning point. 6 runs were required from the last over – to be bowled by Pearson – it was a bye on the last ball that brought victory and 6 points to Paul Angove’s side. A fantastic unbeaten knock of 62 by Steve Bowes saw Follifoot home.
